Practical walkthroughs for the most common Guildhall workflows: creating events, joining communities, managing stores, and getting timezone/calendar behavior right.

Create Your First Event

Create Your First Event

Use this guide if you are hosting a one-time or recurring game night.

1. Open the event wizard

2. Fill in the basics

  • Add a clear title (example: "Friday Commander Night").
  • Add a short description with format, skill level, and what to bring.
  • Choose event type (in_person or online).
  • Set recurrence (none, weekly, biweekly, monthly).

3. Configure access and visibility

  • Audience public: discoverable by everyone.
  • Audience guild: only members of the selected guild can join.
  • Set conversation/photos visibility for attendees vs. broader audiences.

4. Set schedule carefully

  • Pick Event Timezone first.
  • Enter start and end date/time in that timezone.
  • For recurring events, set an optional recurrence end date.
  • Confirm max attendees and optional ticket values if needed.

5. Publish and manage

  • Save the event.
  • Use My Events to review your events in Calendar or List view.
  • Open the event detail page to monitor RSVPs.
  • Use instance controls for recurring sessions when specific dates need edits.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Setting the wrong timezone before entering start/end time.
  • Publishing without a real location or meeting URL.
  • Using guild-only audience without selecting the target guild.
